Definition
Neutral geometry studies theorems that do not need the Euclidean parallel postulate. Hyperbolic geometry replaces it: through a point not on a line, many parallels exist. Angle sums of triangles are < 180°.

Euclid’s parallel postulate is independent — different choices yield different geometries.
Many congruence and inequality results survive in neutral geometry; uniqueness of parallels does not.
Models (Poincaré disk) help visualize hyperbolic lines as arcs meeting the boundary at right angles.
