Area between curves

Definition

Area = ∫ₐᵇ |f−g| dx (top minus bottom) or ∫ |right−left| dy. Find intersection points for limits; split where which curve is above changes.

Read this

Sketch first. Solving f(x)=g(x) gives bounds.

If easier horizontally, integrate with respect to y.

Absolute value matters — signed integral is not area.
