Linear Algebra
Matrices, systems, eigenvalues — core for teaching Algebra II and Praxis algebraic structure.
Suggested prep window: 2–4 weeks
Prerequisites to lock first
- Calc I helpful but not always required; algebra fluency required
A-grade strategy
- Always connect matrix computation to a geometric picture (3Blue1Brown).
- Hand-compute 2×2 and 3×3 examples until Gaussian elimination is automatic.
- Know definitions cold: span, independence, basis, null space, rank.

Self-check (no notes)
If you can do these cold, you are ready to start the Rowan section strong.
- Row-reduce a 3×3 system to RREF and interpret free variables.
- Find eigenvalues/eigenvectors of a 2×2 matrix by hand.
- Explain rank-nullity with one sentence + one example.
